It’s been way way too long since I did an update. Life always has challenges.
First off is completing the main structures for Dallas Divide. I spent some time with my son at college and that gave me some focused building time when he was at classes. Packed up my travel tools, some stain, paint and finished them up. I also scratched built the coal building and tool shed. The Car Shed, Section house and Bunk house are all kits from Banta.
Finished the modular benchwork for Dallas Divide, Omega and Lizard Head. It’s in the Garage waiting for the train room to be built. (long story) Found a better way to mount the LED lighting. More to come in a future post.
I was unhappy with the sub switch I made and found that it was actually out of gauge. The jig I used was not accurate, cant remember where I got it from. I love FastTrack jigs and are very well made. However they are a bit expensive and they don’t make a Sn3 Stub switch. Decided to try and make a suitable substitute instead. After Drawing up the switch in CAD, I 3d printed a few jigs.
Using the ultimation sander, some of the FastTrack aluminum jigs, I was able to make a stub switch that hopefully will be maintenance free. I’m happy with the results so far.
