Quick update on track progress. I finally had time to put the ties down. I have been using 3d planit to work out the track plan of my modules. From that I can print 1-1 templates to help visualize and get the look and feel of each section. I’m using 1/2" cork as the roadbed. It’s an experiment for this section. But in theory the cork will be more resilient to humidity and temperature fluctuations. We shall see.
To assist in placing the ties, I made a couple of jigs that have the ties spaced out. Then with painters tape, it’s lift out of the jig, bit of glue and then place. Rinse and repeat. Took longer than expected, my Dog kept wanting me to toss the ball for him.
The current backdrop of Dallas Divide is a photo I took in the summer of 2023 after the Narrow Gauge convention. A Friend of mine who is also modeling the RGS flew out this fall and took photos for backdrops. Now I have to determine if I want late summer or fall.
So next up, is roughing in the scenery and pick a backdrop. My next update will likely be on my lighting plan. I was hoping to finish that by now, but UPS lost the package of custom PC boards I did. So waiting for them to be made again.. Sigh.
